The Hawk Pro is a whole new experience, compared to what you had with the original Hawk. These are built by our friends in Ukraine and they do an amazing job!! It may be a 1 meter DLG, but it is built with all of the love and care of a larger model. These are little works of art.
The differences between the Hawk and Hawk Pro are as follows:
- Hawk Pro features a Rohacell wing core, compared to the XPS in the original Hawk
- Hawk Pro has a modern Synergy family airfoil, also used in our Falcon F3K Model
- Hawk Pro has a nose cone, instead of a hatch for the pod access
- Hawk Pro features a larger pod for servos and electronics
The Hawk is the very popular predecessor to the Iago. The first thing we noticed was the build quality. Blemish free hinges and surfaces, practically non-existent mold lines, perfect layups of glass & spread tow carbon, and well-placed reinforcement. Under the hatch you will need to install four servos, they will be connected to the tail surfaces through a pull/spring system to minimize tail weight. The aileron pushrods exit smoothly though the fuselage sides and slide into control arms with a simple "L" to minimize drag and ease disassembly.
For assembly, two screws for the both the wing and horizontal transfer the stress of launch and landing to the gap-free reinforced saddles. The hinge lines are accurately cut and clean. The rear of the fuselage is carbon, while the pod is constructed of 2.4 GHz friendly fiberglass.
The kit come as the airframe with basic hardware - including control horns, pushrod wires, pull springs, pull spring cable, cable ferrules, a throwing blade, and a fiberglass plate for servo mounting.
