FrSky D8R-XP- 8/8 Channel Receiver With CPPM

Quick Overview

FrSky D8R-XP 8 Channel Receiver w/ RSSI output (for OSD) and CPPM. (CPPM carries all 8 channels on a single connection.)

Availability: In stock

Compatible with FrSky Taranis and the telemetry modules: DFT, DJT, DHT, DHT-U

The XP is a special receiver that is identical to the D8R-II Plus, but it has added the RSSI and CPPM outputs commonly used for FPV aircraft. CPPM can reduce wiring to some flight controllers, a single servo extension can carry all 8 channels to the flight computer. Furthermore, CPPM output can be used as a wireless trainer system (wireless trainer cable). The RSSI output is for use with On Screen Display (OSD) systems that are common in the First Person View (FPV) vehicles. (All FrSky telemetry receivers send RSSI levels back to the transmitter, but this receiver can output this data for use with an OSD.)

Aloft Hobbies stocks the 27ms CPPM firmware on all XP receivers for improved safety. Another Aloft exclusive.

Dimension: 55*25*14mm
Weight: 12.4g
Operating Voltage Range: 3.5V-10.0V
Operating Current: 100mA
Operating Range: Full Range >1.5km
Servo Frame Rate: 18ms (FS – Normal Speed Mode)
                                9ms (HS – High Speed Mode)

Two external analog telemetry ports (A1&A2) and one digital data-stream port (Rx);
RSSI (PWM) and CPPM output if channel 3 and channel 4 are connected by a jumper;
When side port pins of A1 and X are connected by the jumper, A1 will change from external analog telemetry port to internal built-in battery voltage sensor;
Convenient to upgrade – no need to open the receiver’s case when upgrading;
Two switchable PPM modes - FS mode and HS mode;
Alarm warning on low voltage, poor reception, etc.

Warning: Battery or servos are NOT to be plugged into side ports (A1/A2/Rx), otherwise damage may occur.
Warning: HS mode is only applied for high-speed digital servos. Other servos should select FS mode, otherwise servos will get hot and may burn out.

  1. great product, great customer support review by marcio on 4/18/2015

    bought this and the transmitter module for my flysky 9x. works perfect. i flew it this morning and i went way pass the range of the stock tx/rx. did not lose signal at all. i just setup the failsafe to rtl and it works good on the bench now all i have to do is test it out in the field. customer service was great and delivery to OK was super fast.

  2. Great shipping! review by William on 7/5/2014

    I had ordered this on 6\4\14 through Hobby King. After the order was taken they said 45 business days. They say that it was 'dispatched from their warehouse'. Tracking number says it is still in route to the shipper. Bottom line, 4 weeks later, still no receiver. I ordered the same receiver from AloftHobbies 5 days ago. It arrived from Aloft today, July 5! No need to bash HobbyKing, I'm just going to keep dealing with AloftHobbies.

  3. Best customer support! review by Sebastian on 2/27/2014

    I ordered a V8FR and due to a stock error it sold out before it could ship. I called aloft hobbies and they upgraded me to this model for no extra charge! Cant wait to try out the PPM-SUM!

  5. great seller review by bert on 7/16/2013

    This receiver is ok for CPPM board to read all signals with one cable.
    Those aloft guys are awaysome. I ordered this, and 7 days later it arrived in europe. They indeed ship right away!

  6. Good receiver with telemetry review by Martin on 4/5/2013

    Very good receiver. Able to know when battery is empty is very nice.

    NB: This receiver is unusable when used with a HK401B gyro. It's impossible to be able to use this gyro with this receiver without having tail wagging all the way (and yes this gyro was working flawlessly with an orange receiver).
