We are grateful to FrSky for entertaining our idea for specialized glider receivers. The G-RX6's design features really help it to stand out from the crowd. The G-RX6 and the G-RX8 are the only receivers that we know of that have built in variometers, satellite / redundancy capability as well as telemetry.
Small in form factor, the G-RX6 can be installed in gliders with restricted payload bays such as DLG's and high performance slopers. Not needing to install an additional altimeter/variometer also saves room and weight.
The built in barometer provides altitude telemetry and a variometer. The variometer sounds both ascending and descending tones, so you will know whether you are in lift or sink without having to look at your transmitter.
For a little extra confidence you can connect another receiver to the G-RX6. A redundant receiver or satellite, as they are commonly known, helps to improve your aircraft's signal reception under difficult circumstances; such as specking out, all carbon airframes, or flying sites with considerable radio frequency noise. While the satellite receiver can be any of FrSky's SBUS equipped receivers we recommend the XM+.
G-RX6 receiver incorporates all of the functions of X6R. It features 6 high precision PWM outputs and low latency. The PWM output is 9ms faster than the X6R in high speed mode. The G-RX6 also supports redundancy, this means you can connect another receiver as a backup in the case that the first one fails. If all that isn't enough, the G-RX6 and the whole RX-line have an increased operating range of up to 40% compared to the previous X series receivers.
