What's New:

  • ACCESS Protocol
  • Lower Latency
  • Spectrum Analyzer
  • Power Meter
  • Smart Share
  • Smart Match
  • Trio Control
  • CNC aluminum hall effect gimbals

and more...

Introducing the X-Lite Pro the first FrSky radio to use the new ACCESS protocol. First, lets go over some of the physical upgrades that have been made to the X-Lite that makes it now the X-Lite Pro.

Pro version feature the addition of a PARA wireless trainer function which makes it compatible with the FrSky Free Link App and AirLink S.

First on the list is the CNC'd aluminum, Hall Effect gimbals, better precision, equals better feel, equals better control. A new RF module that has lower latency. An increase in baud rate to 450K, resulting in higher communication speeds between internal and external modules. A wireless trainer system, but still supports the cable trainer system. And an internal battery charger round out this short list.

Let's get ACCESS.

ACCESS is FrSky's next generation transmission protocol that tremendously increases the capability of their transmitters. How, do you ask? The following is a paragraphical highlight list of the new capabilities of ACCESS.

The number of channels has been increased from 16 to 24. Latency has been decreased. Lower latency decreases the time that it takes for a channel command to leave the transmitter and produce a result at the aircraft. Binding, firmware updating and configuration of receivers can now be done wirelessly. The introduction of Smart Match; once a receiver is registered to a transmitter, that receiver can be wirelessly bound to the transmitter without having to push the bind button on the receiver. Both the transmitter and the receiver cross verify each other during the bind process, providing a greater level of security between the transmitter and receiver.

Channel remapping; individual receiver pins can be assigned to any channel using the new "receiver options" page in the transmitter. This function helps to make setting up an aircraft easier and more goof proof than ever before. Use the onboard spectrum analyzer to check for potentially intrusive or excessively strong radio frequencies (or RF noise) transmitting near your flying area. You can also use the Power Meter page to determine the RF output of external devices that transmit on frequencies between 900MHz and 2.4GHz. An integrated 6 axis, motion sensing control feature allows the pilot to control receiver channels on the aircraft during flight just by tilting the radio.

We have just touched upon the capabilities and abilities of the new ACCESS protocol if you would like to know more about ACCESS and the X-Lite Pro click here.

X-lite pro

I purchased this radio about a year ago and have been flying with it all summer, it performs very well and fits my hands nicely, I’m using the lemon xmit module to fly my e flite foam aircraft, build quality is excellent plus I’m an open tx fan! I’m very happy with this radio and would recommend it to others!

FRSKY X-lite Pro

The precision and features of this Radio Control are amazing. With the latest Open TX version you can use ACCST D16 and ACCESS without any issues. Also, the radio is perfectly compatible with the Crossfire module. I really liked the size and clarity of the screen together with possibility of trimming the roll, pitch and rudder with real buttons. A possible con of this radio is that it is not possible to change the tension of the aileron and rudder without opening the case, even though there are screws on the back of the radio. This screws can give you some more room to play after you have adjusted the internal ones.

It is a joy to fly with the X-Lite

I remember reading about the X-Lite when it first came out. It was interesting, but I figured it was just another gadget and I wasn't a gamer and didn't fly drones. Lately I have started flying little 7 oz 3D planes, and walking out to the field with my 3lb Horus X12S swinging from my neck trap got me thinking about the X-Lite again. I wasn't at all sure I could fly with a tiny gamer type radio but I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. It feels great in my hands and is nice to hold. I have not trouble with the shorter sticks and can transition between the X=Lite and Horus seamlessly. The fit and finish is very pleasing, and the case is nice. I find it pretty easy to use the joystick to edit models and I actually like the trim pad since I don't have to take my right thumb off the stick to trim the ailerons and rudder, nice on a maiden. It is a joy to fly with this little radio.
