An ultra compact, easy to transport, fly anywhere electric glider.
The 1.1 meter Marjoram is the perfect on the go companion; easy to stash in the car, the Marjoram makes a great grab and go aircraft for that quick flight at lunch time, or to release some tension and grab a flight on the way home from work. With it's aileron equipped thin wing and weighing in at a scant 315 grams, this little power glider offers a lot of potential as a fun to fly little zippity do da.
OK, now for the meat and potatoes.
The Marjoram 2 is a 1.1 meter electric glider with a built up wing construction and a stiff yet light fuselage. This puts the Marjoram 2 in a lightweight electric glider class. The Marjoram 2 sports ailerons, and a V-Tail. As designed, the V-Tail is controlled by a single servo in the fuse (no rudder-yank n bank). With a little bit of problem solving and perseverance it can be changed to a dual servo control which will yield rudder control for the effort. The ailerons are controlled by independent servos. This provides the opportunity to use the ailerons as flaperons or even add a little spoiler to the mix if your radio has such features. In the wing, the servo pockets have been precut and the factory even includes pre-installed servo extensions in the wings so you will not have to fish those through there. As part of the build process, the builder is tasked with joining the two wing halves together to form a one piece wing measuring 47 inches. The fuselage pod is made of molded plastic and has enough thickness to have decent rigidity -- it feels good in the hand -- not too flexy. The tail boom is a hollow protruded carbon tube that is a good balance between rigidity and weight. Kudos to the designer for including a jig that holds the V-Tail assembly for you so you can easily and accurately glue it together.
In the small bits department, the kit comes with control horns, screws for mounting the motor, shrink tubing for the servo extensions (keeps them from coming unplugged), a ply servo tray and some velcro and fiberglass. Music wire control rods, servo covers, and a V-Tail assembly jig round out the kit. An assembly manual (with decal set) is included. The manual is written in both English and Japanese and has good pictures that greatly simplify understanding individual tasks.
NOTE: This is a BARE AIRFRAME KIT. You will need to supply your own propulsion system, servos and other components to complete this aircraft.
