The achilles heel of the original Eagle was its latency. For many of us, 45-50µs of latency is probably not much of a concern but for those of you gifted with lightening fast reflexes and the ability to use them will be glad to hear that the Eagle 2 is now as fast as the swift. YAY!
Next on the hooray parade is the Eagles WDR (wide dynamic range). This the ability of the camera to extract detail from shadowy areas in high contrast scenes. It is my understanding that the camera is able to do this by combining two images together that are taken using different exposure types and then averaged into a single image; pretty neat stuff and in any case it works very well! In closing the Eagle 2 produces beautiful images that can be tuned to taste using the included OSD menu cable. Enjoy!
