Many people have been asking for a smaller, lighter RC transmitter. The new generations of RC pilots are hiking out to sweet spots and traveling with their gear like never before. The weight, size and reliability of every piece of gear plays a part in the success of our adventures.
For many of us, the majority of our "stick time" has been on gaming consoles. The advent of FPV has provided for us an interactive, real world video game like experience. Having a transmitter which resembles and feels so much like a gaming controller inspires confidence through familiarity.
The X-Lite, while very compact, still retains all of the technical features that we have enjoyed and have come to rely upon from FrSky gear. The X-Lite runs OpenTx and uses the rock solid ACCST protocol. The radio is powered by a pair of 18500 Lithium Ion cells (not included), one in each handle. Batteries and a charger can be found here or on the link below. The handle tips unclip allowing you to change the batteries in the field very easily. Control inputs consist of four switches, two sliders and the new M12 Lite digital Hall effect gimbals! Pretty sweet considering the price point.
Haptic feedback, voice and sound alerts and a 60 model model memory are still par for the course. If 60 models are not enough, there is an SD card slot that can be used to increase model memory.
Given the small form factor of this transmitter, a rear mounted JR style module bay was not an option. For those pilots interested in a robust long range radio link, FrSky will be releasing the R9M Lite 915/868 MHz long range module, specifically to enhance this radio.
Some things to be aware of. The radio at this point does not come with batteries nor a charger. You will need to purchase those items separately.
