Sometimes it's just worth paying extra to save time. The RTF MAAT 1 just needs a receiver and a battery and you can go fly.
Thoughtfully designed and executed, the MAAT 1 DLG's are exceptional performers and are very popular in Europe with entry level competitors. The build quality on these birds is excellent and close observation reveals the manufacturers attention to detail.
The fuselage is oval in shape to resist boom flex during launch. The fuse is manufactured as one piece in a pressurized mold using UMS fabrics. The forward fuselage is made from kevlar so it is 2.4Ghz friendly and is more ding resistant than carbon fiber.
The wing and tails are manufactured from XPS polystyrene cores laminated with Porcher fiber glass, Kevlar and UMS carbon fiber. And note, this is provided as a one piece wing; which is a huge advantage over having to join the wing halves as the kit builder. The profiles used are from Jan Pejchar. They are slimmer (the depth of the wing at the root is only 175mm) and give the aircraft perfect flight performance even in windy weather.

BLEM NOTE: The blem units received some shipping damage on their way to Aloft. The rudder control horns will need to be repaired. The rest of the glider is fine.
