A classic and pure form of model aviation.
When I was little, I used to play with balsa wood free flight hand launch gliders. I loved throwing them off high places and watching them soar gracefully to the ground. Soon I was able to make them circle, loop and when I had the strength, I learned how to launch them high up into thermals for longer flights.
The Aeronaut Dixi 2 makes for a fun and inexpensive way to experience flight and if built correctly, will reward you with amazing performance. Included in the kit are some fairly nicely die cut balsa parts for the airframe, paper decals, nose weight and jigs for setting the wing dihedral and mounting the vertical and horizontal stabilizer on the fuselage. You will need white glue or CA, fine grit sandpaper and a glue stick for construction.
